Here we are in another new year and another new decade and what a start it's been! It's almost March already and we hit the ground running right from the start of the new year. We have so much good stuff to share with you in this issue, and hope you enjoy the new magazine style read.

To kick start the new decade, we've introduced our new magazine to replace our old newsletter - as well as new staff, new products, new clothing, new shoes - and that's just the start!

2009 certainly ended on a high note for all of us at Pol-arise with the exciting news that our very own Bailey was announced the winner of the inaugural Australian Pole Dance Championships in Melbourne.

The whole weekend was very exciting and inspiring with around 100 of Australia's best pole dancers competing across four categories. But don't despair if you couldn't be there. The DVD will be out soon and we will be keeping stock as soon as it's released. We are accepting pre-orders so you know you won't miss out.

Hi Everyone,

It's been such a crazy time this last six months...

Some of you know about the bad run our family had leading up to Christmas - losing several close family members - my mother and brother (6 weeks apart), then my mother in law a few weeks later, followed by two uncles. The final count was five deaths in three months and that'll do me thank you. We felt like we were living in a departure lounge for Heavenly Airlines. I wanted to take this opportunity to publicly thank all of you who sent their best wishes...and a HUGE thank you to all our fabulous staff who kept everything running smoothly throughout this time. Our gratitude to all of you.

In amongst the funerals, pole dance competitions and several interstate trips, I've hardly spent any time in the studios, but in saying that, there's been loads of great stuff going on as well... Bailey winning the Australian Pole Dance Championships was definitely the highlight of 2009, four new Licensed studios opening over the next couple of months and we've been busy finding some great new products, dance poles and clothing. To top it off we just heard a few days ago that our second grandchild is on the way and is due around October. Yes, I'm also Nana Pol-arise!

2010 is shaping up to be a fabulous year.

The 2010 Australian Pole Dance Championships will be extended this year and has become the Asia Pacific Pole Dance Championships, and will be held in Brisbane in August. I know that several of our students and teachers are competing this year and many are already in training. It's a huge task to prepare for a competition of this calibre and it's going to be so exciting to watch our team of girls in Brisbane. You'll find more information about the 2010 Championships in this issue.
